INTRODUCTION
Palmitic acid is the highest fatty acid component in butterfat and is produced through the de novo synthesis in the mammary gland that utilizes serum fatty acids or preformed ones from feed. The use of high C16:0 palmitic fatty acid products is known to increase butterfat percentages by complimenting the de novo synthesis by offering the fatty acid in preformed state, thereby enhancing its availability. With a naturally high melting point, a high palmitic fatty acid product has an effective ruminal inertness but is generally accepted to be higher in intestinal digestibility when fed as free fatty acids than as triglyceride forms.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The NUTRACOR is a variant of high palmitic fatty acid rumen bypass fat that is made from freshly produced palm oil fatty acid that still retains a high level of phytonutrients as additional benefits to the product as an important energy source and de novo fatty acids replacer for ruminants. The product has a high crude fat content of 99% minimum with not less than 80% units of C16:0 palmitic acids that will assist in the elevation of butterfat content in milk. A balance of 20% consisting mostly of C18:0 stearic and C18:1 oleic complement to both higher digestibility and/or a more equitable energy partitioning.

The NUTRACOR is micro-prilled to promote superior intestinal digestibility by increasing surface ratios for greater emulsification at intestinal level especially at higher inclusion rates.
